(Yes, swallows No)
Before the silence of
unleavened bread
I see not You; it is
never YOU!
Before the kneeling
figures that overshadows You,
I feel not You; It is
never YOU!
Before the whiteness
of the wafer
I taste nothing! It is but nothing ("bread alone")
Before the wind that
surrounds the mystery
I feel not You! It is
certainly not YOU!
Everything that my
senses tell me, they are all
Screaming, Commending,
Persuading
It is NOT YOU!
All of those that I see,
feel, taste, and touch are but ordinary
It cannot be DIVINE!
And yet, the silence
betrays Your voice – small and still
And yet, those shadowy
figures that hovers my uncertainty commands me
It is YOU!
And yet the white hue
of banal bread (says who?)
Tasteless it may see reflects
DIVINE!
And yet the gentle
wind that whispers to my ears contradicts
and brings the ordinary
– to a new dimension.
My stubborn NO is swallowed
by a DIVINE YES
FIAT AMEN, FIAT AMEN
TO FAITH
